How to care for your grip socks (so the grip lasts)

Good grip socks are an investment in your practice, and a little care keeps them performing like new. The good news: it is not complicated.

Machine wash cold, inside out. Cold water protects the silicone grip and keeps the knit soft. Turning them inside out shields the grip dots from friction against the rest of the load.

Skip the dryer. Heat is the enemy of silicone. Lay your socks flat or hang them to dry and the grip will keep its tack wash after wash. For the same reason, no ironing and no bleach.

Rotate your pairs. Like good trainers, grip socks last longer when they rest between classes. Two or three pairs in rotation will each outlast a single pair worn daily, and your studio bag always has a fresh option.

Check the sole now and then. If the grip starts to feel glossy, a gentle hand wash lifts away studio dust and skin oils that build up on the silicone. Air dry, and the tack comes back.

Every 4Grip pair is built for this: an 80 percent cotton blend that holds its shape, reinforced heel and toe, and high-density grip placed where you actually load your foot. Care for them well and they will return the favour, class after class.
